To me, becoming an author means…
To me, becoming an author is not about becoming an author, as a title, to add to the roles I am. I'll be happy to have written this book, to have authored it into a read-worthy format that one other person picks up and can relate to, to let them know they are not alone.

... and that there are avenues open right now that they can reach out to, either to stop the abuse or to have help dealing with what comes up for them. That this is bigger than them. It is so common and so unspoken, it's sickening.

It's rare to hear the word incest. It's been hidden by families, even as being a disgracing of the family name, so the abused feels she's done something wrong in sharing with anyone what she experienced.
