Prep for Interviews with Alice
As a survivor of trauma who has experienced cPTSD and the author of Resolve, Alice has found recovery and peace. She understands the importance of being prepared and organised, especially when discussing sensitive topics like sibling sexual abuse and trauma.
Alice has been fortunate to participate in various podcasts and interviews. She values the rapport that can be built when she and the interviewer are aligned with the show’s outcome from the start.
What would you like to talk about?
Alice prefers to receive some proposed questions beforehand—it helps her stay focused and centred. It also helps to co-create an engaging and meaningful conversation. Of course, she’s always open to the natural flow of discussion once trust and connection are established.
There will be moments when Alice may choose not to answer certain questions for personal or privacy reasons. Given sibling sexual abuse is a not-often spoken-about subject, some questions can also allow us to demonstrate what kinds of questions are okay or not okay to ask someone who has experienced what Alice did.
We trust that you will appreciate the need for empathy, understanding, and a sense of safety in your role as host. Also, given the choice to share her story under a pen name, for legal reasons, Alice attends podcasts and other shows where only the audio recording is shared with the public.
We make your interview prep easy
At the bottom of this page, you will find a helpful handout we offer to inspire podcasters and radio show hosts.
We compiled this Q&A list based on what Alice has already been asked in past interviews or considered that she may want to be asked and questions she feels need to be asked because no one has asked them before. As more shows are booked, we will update this list.
The other purpose of this list is to build an internal resource here. It will help us to better understand what people really want to know, what they don’t understand, and what may be helpful. The point of Alice’s years of work in writing Resolve is that it becomes a conversation starter.
We thank you for considering starting a conversation with Alice on whichever aspect of her story interests you the most.
Feel free to reach out if you’d like to explore these questions further or craft your own. Alice will be delighted to discuss these important topics with you for your audience.
